本作品汲取 American Regionalism 對土地、人群與真實生活的關注，融合 Contemporary Fine Art 的空間語彙，以一面巨大的鏡面作為畫面的核心，探討科技、媒體與人文價值之間的關係。
鏡中的倒影並非另一個世界，而是映照我們共同生活的文明。遠方的山巒、湖面的光影與天地交會的景色，象徵自然秩序與永恆價值；鏡外則散落著幾何構成的城市、建築與人群，呈現科技發展、資訊流動與社會變遷所構築的現代世界。畫面中的人物靜立於鏡前，既是觀看者，也是被觀看者，引導觀者重新思考：當科技愈發強大，我們真正應該凝視的是未來，還是我們自己？
新聞的使命，是忠實映照社會；企業治理的責任，是在變動中堅守原則。鏡子因此不只是反射光線的媒介，更象徵誠信、判斷與公共信任。它提醒我們，科技可以加速資訊的流動，卻無法決定價值的方向；真正塑造未來的，始終是人類如何理解真相、承擔責任，以及如何做出選擇。
在《碳矽之間》的語境中，這件作品提出了一個簡單卻重要的命題：未來值得被照見的，不只是更先進的科技，而是始終以人文為本的文明。
Drawing on American Regionalism and its attention to land, community, and everyday life, this work incorporates the spatial language of Contemporary Fine Art. A monumental mirror occupies the center of the composition, serving as a visual and conceptual device through which the relationships among technology, media, and humanistic values are examined.
The reflection within the mirror does not reveal another world; it reflects the civilization we collectively inhabit. Distant mountains, light shimmering across the lake, and the meeting of earth and sky symbolize the enduring order of nature and timeless values. Beyond the mirror, geometrically constructed cities, buildings, and human figures evoke a modern world shaped by technological development, the circulation of information, and social transformation. A solitary figure stands before the mirror, both observer and observed, inviting us to reconsider a fundamental question: as technology becomes ever more powerful, should we be looking toward the future—or more closely at ourselves?
The mission of journalism is to reflect society faithfully; the responsibility of corporate governance is to uphold principles amid change. The mirror therefore becomes more than a surface that reflects light. It symbolizes integrity, judgment, and public trust. It reminds us that technology may accelerate the flow of information, but it cannot determine the direction of our values. The future is ultimately shaped by how human beings understand truth, assume responsibility, and make choices.
Within the context of Between Carbon and Silicon, this work presents a simple yet essential proposition: what deserves to be reflected in the future is not only more advanced technology, but a civilization that remains firmly grounded in humanistic values.
