A Love Letter to the Future | The Handwriting of the City

本作品以地圖藝術、臺中市區為創作靈感，從圖中的圓環可看出環中路與城市紋理轉化為細膩交織的色鉛筆筆觸。層層疊加的線條如同時間的刻痕，也像無數市民共同留下的生活軌跡，描繪出臺中獨有的人文地景與城市記憶。

畫面上方的一雙手，象徵守護、培育與陪伴，寓意城市治理如同藝術創作，需要耐心、遠見與持續投入。真正塑造一座城市的，不只是建築與道路，更是文化、教育、產業與每一位生活其中的人。

作品將地圖轉化為藝術，也將城市視為一件持續創作中的作品，呈現臺中在傳統與創新之間，不斷向前延伸的生命力。

Inspired by map art and the urban fabric of Taichung, this work transforms the city's street network into an intricate composition of colored pencil strokes. At its center, the circular form of Taichung's Ring Road (Huanzhong Road) emerges as the city's defining structure, from which the surrounding streets unfold like an organic network. Layer upon layer of delicate lines resemble the traces of time, while simultaneously evoking the countless paths created by generations of citizens, revealing Taichung's unique cultural landscape and collective memory.

The pair of hands hovering above the city symbolizes protection, cultivation, and guidance. They suggest that shaping a city is much like creating a work of art—an enduring process that demands patience, vision, and unwavering commitment. A city's true identity is not defined solely by its buildings or roads, but by its culture, education, industries, and, above all, the people whose lives continually shape its character.

By transforming a map into a work of art, the painting invites viewers to see the city itself as an ever-evolving masterpiece. It celebrates Taichung as a place where tradition and innovation converge, expressing the enduring vitality of a city that continues to grow, inspire, and create its future.
